The Patent & Valorisation Agency Mecklenburg-Vorpommern AG (PVA-MV) is exclusively responsible for the screening, patenting (IPR) and commercialisation of research results stemming from the regional universities and research institutes in the German Land Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The PVA-MV network consist of the following research institutions:

– Research Institute for the Biology of Farm Animals

– Leibnitz Institute for Organic Catalysis Research

The PVA-MV-network with its nine partners encompasses a total of 3.000 scientists working in innovative fields of research.

It is the aim of the PVA-MV, together with these partners, to implement an economic sustainable commercialisation process in order to generate returns out of research. The commercialisation strategy comprises a broad spectrum of alternative options, ranging from co-operation with the industry in terms of research and development to patenting and out-licensing, to also include the creation of start-ups and spin-offs and the funding thereof; either own, through an established science trust, or from a third-party.

Internal innovation workshop
The CERIM partners met in Vienna for an internal workshop where a method for the ranking and selection of high-potential innovations was developed and applied.

Study tour to the US
The CERIM partners visited tech transfer organisations in Detroit and Boston.

CERIM Innovation Symposium
When, if not now, is the opportunity to be innovative? This was the theme of the CERIM Innovation Symposium 09 held in Salzburg, 21-23 October.

Study tour to the UK
The CERIM partners visited technology transfer organisations in London and in Oxford in order to receive input for the development of a new technology transfer model suitable for Central Europe.
